I'm not really 'up' on how the rep system works mate, but I would suggest that by letting your displeasure be known you might have encouraged those responsible to repeat the act. Ask yourself what difference it makes if you get some neg rep from someone you don't know.

It could be said that, whilst not being racist, making light of the deaths of 6 million people is quite likely to offend.
