Player Valuation: £6m
This is the question that i think willo be debated over for many a week to come, where do England go from here?

Here is my opinion for what it is worth.

Start from scratch and forget the Euros in 2 years. We need to look more long term than that. We need a 4-8 year plan. If we look at the team that played today we can see what needs doing to it.
James (39)
Johnson (25)
Upson (31)
Terry (29)
Cole (29)
Gerrard (30)
Lampard (32)
Milner (24)
Barry (29)
Defoe (27)
Rooney (24)
Average age = 29
If we took that same team again in 4 years time then the average age would be 33 which is to old. We need to take the old player and say that they are no longer in the picture as at the next WC they will be to old. We need to do it now!

Milner, Rooney and maybe Johnson will be able to remain in the squad but in my eyes, the rest have had their chance. We then take the current best 27 other players that are under 25 and form a squad. This is then the squad for the next WC finals in 4 years. Every time England play, the same 30 players are used, regardless of form. If some are injured, they go along as part of the team, to bond or whatever but there is no replacement. That way we make a team that has a team spirit and knows each other. We choose a manage that is English that all the players will play for and respect. Stuart "physcio" Peirce or David Beckham come to mind. Regardsless or performance or results, we stick by this group for 4 years. We need consistancy and we need it fast.

Who would be in this squad, im not sure. We have a good U21 team that has been together since they were 12-13, lets use that structure and team and move forward. The current squad is
Scott Loach (22)
Frank Fielding (22)
Alex McCarthy (20)
Michael Mancienne (22)
Micah Richards (22)
James Tomkins (20)
Kyle Naughton (21)
Ryan Bertrand (20)
Chris Smalling (20)
Kyle Walker (20)
Fabrice Muamba (22)
Lee Cattermole (22)
Jack Rodwell (19)
Tom Cleverley (20)
Jack Wilshere (18)
Fabian Delph (20)
Jack Cork (21)
Dan Gosling (20)
Henri Lansbury (19)
Victor Moses (19)
Andy Carroll (21)
Daniel Sturridge (20)
Danny Welbeck (19)
Nathan Delfouneso (19)

All our playing the the PL and most are getting game time. Add Milner, Rooney, Johnson, Hart and that is my eyes is a decent squad.

What do you think? Its only my opinion so feel free to shoot it down but i cant stand watching that mess again.

Do like Germany. Forget the "golden" generation, you want Rodwell, Gibbs, Haart, A.Johnson etc to get in the team now so we can blood them in for 2 years, ready for the Euro's. However I fear we will hang on to the likes of Gerrard and lampard for a while. But starting fresh is, In my opinion, the way forward. The Under 18's just won the Euro's or World Cup ( I forget :/), people are harping on about this young lad from the tractor boys who is supposed to be amazing. Try something new.

Further more, change the mentality, you see Argentina, Spain etc smiling when they play, yes there are expectations. But the boys wearing white look bloody miserable.

Lastly, although the future looks promising, I would seriously suggest taking a look at the Canadian Ice Hockey system for youth development. Country of 30 million can produce the Brazil of Ice Hockey, mad about Hockey. Yet a country that has a equal obessision with football with, a population of 60 million, can barely get a top standard starting 11. There is something that us Canadians is doing right in Ice Hockey that England is not in Football.

Easy, do what the Dutch would do and start over. Get Jags and Dawson (captain) to provide a steady hand in the back and provide veteran leadership.

Put Hart behind the sticks yesterday.

You can also keep Rooney, pray that a 2nd striker develops and that Richards keeps his head on straight.

Build your miidfield around Rodwell, Milner and if Walcott and Wilshire can get matches maybe they could join in.

Also I would suggest the Prem introduce a winter break. The main reason why Rooney was so [Poor language removed] in my opinion was that he carried Man Utd on his back for all the season and it shows. Give them a month off in the winter and I think it would gives a major difference.

No Rooney was just S#$t. If he was too tired/arsed then you would have seen it in March-April not after a 1 month break. Even if he was tired you'd think he had a bit of energy to show a flash of brillance every once in a while. Go back and watch the US-England match, I've never seen someone who supposed to be so good look that bad. He was the worst player on the pitch by a mile that day and if it wasn't for Barry and Johnson would have been the worst player against Germany. The only time England did anything is when he got out of the way.

He was England's worst player of the tournement. Even Heskey played better than him and thats saying something! It's ok because he will score 30 goals next year as playing for ManUre is more important than England. Wish he had been subed to teach the tw@t a lesson and show him he is not the be all and end all

This is what we do.

1, Sack the bum we call a manager(who can't speak English, refuses to change his tactics and play our best play of the tourney out of postion(Gerrard)
2, Get an English manager in.
3, Get rid of everyone over 29 in the squad. An get some of the under 21's in.
4. Make all English premership teams play x amount of English players.
5, Get rid of pointless friendlies in the middle of the season where they fly off to Dubai.
6, The fa needs to spend money in grass roots football, build that thing hey sill no built. B something.
7, Get the England team to travel over the country again till Wembleys fixed properlly.
8, Get goal line tech in the English prem

Thats my opinion. An i think if we do that, we be in with a shout in the next few years.

1. We wont get a new manager coz of money. The FA let him sign a contract extenstion a week ago. Dont ask why.
2. Agree
3. Agree
4. FIFA tried to bring this rule in and it was rejected. It wont happen as it will have a negative impact on the league. This will then have an impact on the grass roots football you talk of.
5. Agree
6. Agree
7. I think that as we spent so much money on Wembley we need to play there, otherwise it is a pointless stadium.
8. Will only happen if UEFA agree and they wont. Think that the extra ref's behind the goal would help and be far easier to implement. Would have solved todays problem anyway

Friendlies need to be set up against decent teams.
Then they should have a younger line up to try to impress and develop.
Agree with the prem teams like Arsenal having to work more English players in the starting eleven.
I said all along England need a English bred coach. The players left at home by Capello concerned me.

1. Capello won't walk. I can't see the FA cutting their losses on this one. Do the maths.
2. See Mclaren.
3. Players are brands that help attract the huge sponsorship fees the FA now command.
4. Up against European free movement of employment bureaucracy.
5. Great for brown nosing our oil rich friends for a few quid.
6. Grass-roots isn't the problem IMHO. Quick-fix option, hence the foreign option. See SPL.
7. I would dearly love for this to happen again, but sadly the FA have a several hundred million mortgage to pay.
8. Great idea which should've implemented years ago. Sepp Blatter doesn't agree with us though.
