Where are we...

The Spurs game raised our hopes to dizzying heights and its been downhill since really (performance wise).

2 of our signings are looking like lemons (Yakubu and Jagielka).

And the Metallist game proved Moyes and Irvine to be clueless (tactics were awful as was the team selection).

STILL I have hope (not sure why though). If we can beat Metallist playing like we did and then to get a favourable group in the draw, then maybe we have a bit of luck on our side (which would be a rarity).

Its called being brought back to REALITY!!

City and Villa there to stay?? Ill believe that at the end of the season Giggeda giggeda.

Come on people, one week were aiming for the champions league, next minute were in a relegation dogfight.

If we beat Liverpool tommorow the Moyes and the players are the greatest thing since Jesus was a whippersnapper! If we lose then there evil scumbag moneygrubbers with no ticker. How can a team show consistency when the fans cant even get it together and cheer them as a whole.

I want us playing sexy football too, and winning stuff, and up there, but its gunna take years. Id say its gunna take as long as it'll take Vaughn to start playing regularily and to build a team around. Thats when Moyes plans will have become apparent i reckon.

He will also have to do some reshuffling and get Yohann Cruyff on board to appease the fans, Pele as the striking coach and Bill Gates to back the team and to appease with constant microsoft updates of our progress.

Sheeeessh!!

On paper I agree that we look to be a top 5 side, in reality we are playing as a top 10 side.

We badly need our midfield to gel better, as it is obvious that our defense and attack suffers from it.

Carsley might be getting on, but he is still the best midfield tackler and blocker in the club. Whenever he is missing our defense is shaky. Jags and Nev is not suited for this role.

Arteta, Gravesen and Cahill are important for our attack, and we need at least two of them playing together in order to combine our way through a defense and provide our strikers with ammo.

In attack there are pros and cons for the rotation that Moyes is using; it will keep the strikers on their toes but on the other hand will lessen the time for them to create a true partnership.

All in all this is the best squad we have had for ages and IMO they will start to gel and continue to improve. Our UEFA Cup qualifier I think affected us a lot more than a lot will admit. But now the job is done and the team and management can relax a bit better now and consentrate on stringing together results week in week out - no one-game-elimination.

Let it start on Saturday!!!

Your right about the spurs game it did raise expectations.
I don,t think the international breaks have helped it seems so stop start but we haven,t played well yet.
The good news though is tommy, timmy and vaughnie are nearly ready to go,so now we will see the real everton hopefully.

It is more than just 3 players, the truth is we are severly lacking in the midfield dept. Grav was a last minute stop gap in the failure to sign Manny and Riquelme. As well as signing G we should have had one of the other two.

The midfield has been awful your right robert but i,m hoping with cahill back and tommy coming back it will improve greatly.
Maybe after last season some players have become complacement because to me yobo, arteta and neville are playing nowhere near as good as they can

Today was a big sign for me that we are moving in the right direction. We need a bit time midfield player dictating things in the middle of the park. Any kids fit the bill in a few years?
