Bounceball really isnt it.

Would have loved a ball playing centre midfielder to back up Arteta and to take the strain off Rodwell in the interim.

However, Rodwell has taken it up a step this season so although we shouldnt expect it constantly he's going to be a big influence, more than what Castillo offered anyway.

We've sorted out the right hand side, if they turn out ok that is. Pienaar and Heitinga/Neville should be able to strike up some understanding and give us some potency like on the left hand side.

Were a bit vunerable squad wise if we hit a row of key injuries so its not all smooth running but we've basically just replaced Distin with Lescott, VDM with the Russian and Jacobsen with Heitinga.

We'll see. Hope it works out, if not we've just lost a pivotal moment to progress.

Onwards you f*cking superb, but sometimes underwhelming, blue boys.

We've proper bought some [Poor language removed] lid. They're like 3 Brett Angels.

Proper gutted me. I well expected more.

True that. But of those three that left only £E$COTT played much for us. Distin can play as much, but isn't as good as him.

VdM didn't play at all, hopefully Bilyaletdinov will. He hasn't the negative trackrecord that VdM had when he signed on.

Jacobsen was, perhaps unfortunately, a backup to Hibbert when he got back from his injury. My big hope is that Heitinga will take Hibberts place as RB and Hibbert will be turned into the second choise there.

All in all a good summer, not great, but good. The worst part for me is that the board didn't come up with any cash (that we know of for certain) to Moyes kitty. Will be interesting to see if Moyes will have the possibility to buy players in January without having to sell anyone.

Classic line in the guardian unlimited report of the last day of the windows. 'It's like getting a packet of chewits and a haircut for your birthday.' Lol.

Azul in 'I'm gonna create a thread instead of posting in one of the other threads so you can hear my opinions' shocker.

Sure I'd rather have Lescott over Distin. However, I think Distin is a steadier presence than Lescott in the back. Lescott would make some hideous mistakes and go into funks but Lescott could also play LW and provide 6-9 goals a season as well. We'll miss his goal scoring ablity, we don't look as threatening on corners when we overwhelmed teams on free kicks with Lescott, Fellani, Cahill and sometimes Yobo but hopefully Disitin will make up for it by improving our goals against rate.

We basically traded Lescott for 3 "hopefully" very good players, it was a good deal considering the circumstances.

the 3 players moyes has brought in has provided us with cover for.

Left Back
Right Back
Center back
Right Midfield
Left Midfield
Ceneter Midfield

PLUS there's money (possibly) left over for January (RVDV!!):P

Would've liked another Midfielder, but...

meh
