Games where we turned up and tuned in...

Bolton away League Cup semi final second leg (1-0 win after 1-1 draw)

Spurs semi and United FA Cup 1995

Chelsea FA Cup replay away won on pens

Sunderland Cup replay

City away under Moyes.

Royle debut Vs the RS

Any other?

3-3 at GP against the shte.

With a decent keeper we would have won that game after running them ragged and cutting through them like a knife through butter. Quite a few games that season we were "proper" Everton

Missed a load of sitters, let them score from the only three set piece chances we actually gave them, threw away a lead in the last few minutes thanks to a foul we didn’t have to give away. It was a classic Everton bottle job. If the performances had been reversed they would have spanked us 5 or 6-2 and we should have taken the opportunity to do the same to them.

To answer the OP it’s been so long that I can’t remember it. The last ‘big’ game we won when there was some pressure on it was Arsenal at home under Martinez, but that was undone by losing to Palace at home next game.

It was probably the 04/05 season beating United and Newcastle to get 4th when the pressure was on. Then beating Liverpool and United in the cup run was probably the other point. Everything else since has been winning games that don’t really matter and bottling the rest.

No credit for this week? After playing the neighbours last season we had a nervous breakdown for about three months.

So this season we still lost, but the bounce back has been immediate. Progress.

Newcastle away recently- with the crowd behind them and Big Andy Carroll launching himself at us every set piece thought we done well to not do a Silva and buckle.

Similiar mettle needed on the weekend against a West Ham side desperate for points who have a few players who can hurt us.
