What's your starting eleven?

Kev has been better than Del so far this season IMO and Bolasie has done well since he came in

We've been picking on reputation and potential for too long. We should start picking on form. On current form, Del doesn't make the Starting XI

Harsh, but fair

Well, I have included Kev in my starting XI, Mikey.

Bolasie played well when coming on as sub at Baggies but was largely anonymous versus Stoke.

Del has been played out of position the two games he has started so comments about his "current form" are moot.

(Though to be fair, he played well as a lone striker against Spurs....was lively and inventive, and got into goal scoring positions)

I would be very surprised if anyone whom has watched both players, played in their natural wide positions, over the past few years would reckon Bolasie at his best is better than Del at his best.

There is a gulf between them IMO.

Also, as Del was frozen out of the team during the final months of Bobby's tenure, much to the detriment of our goal scoring threat as Rom's form will attest, Del has never been picked on his "reputation and potential" alone

But you are right....Bolasie will get the nod over Del because he is our record signing and it is going to take quite a few poor showings to dislodge him.

Sorry, but I have a bad feeling about the Bolasie signing.......it is a strange way to break our transfer record :(

except for Holgate and barkley?
We have no choice but to play Holgate and Barkley is hardly a kid now. He has played in a World Cup and has 3 years experience under his belt.

You could argue Deulofeu isn't either but I think we all accept Deulofeu is a bit behind Barkley in terms of development.

I'm not saying he won't play any kids but they have to be pretty special.

we have three other cbs
plus he's loaned out Galloway to get football, and we've just bought a 19 year old striker
I'd say koeman has an interest in younger players, he's mainly bought players in their prime to quickly advance the everton project and make us a more attractive destination
don't forget Southampton are another team renowned for bringing through youth projects

None of them are playing in the first team and neither will the 19 year old striker. Frankly I don't think Koeman has much to do with them except "No you can take them because I don't want them for the first team".

He's a first team coach and nothing more. It's not necessarily a bad thing just what it is.
