TBH I do not think he has fully recovered from his injury problem. The business about his foot could affect his running, tackling and jumping. Perhaps he just does not have the confidence in it as yet to fully exert himself.

Aside from injuries he's had problems off the field. First with his brother being jailed for gbh and then him getting in trouble for voicing support for him.
Maybe he should ask Joey Barton for advice on how to put it to the back of his mind ..
