Player Valuation: £25k
Is their a money to spend without selling?

We could progress so much if we had a budget of as little as £8m or 9m a season to spend on new players. If we could sign a player like a Heitinga (i.e good value but bloody brilliant) every summer that would be smashin'.

Who's off then if not? Yobo, Vaughan. Thats not going to generate much cash and then if it's a Fellaini style marquee signing, I'd have serious concerns about depth. I don't particualy want to see more Castillo style loan signings just to make up the numbers and then do pretty poorly when we actually need them. I feel for Moyes it's such a difficult balancing act.

Either that or I suggest whatever transfer money we do have we spend it on a cloning machine to clone Heitinga.

early suggestions* point to the money earmarked for transfers going on improving players contracts. bosmans/frees are order of the day.

*were talking tabloid media reports here.

Sell to buy.

I agree, a few mil each season would be brill, but we cope eh?

And I think Moyes will just look at the offers he recieves for players, and go on that. I doubt he'll actively look to ship players out.

didn't think castillo was too bad tbh, he didn't get many opportunities and if you've ever watched him for ecuador then he plays a totally different game to what moyes had him playing, he's full on end to end and involved in everything.
don't know how he's doing for wolves ?

Mainly freebies I guess. Jan Mucha as cover for Tim Howard, with Jermaine Beckford and that Portuguese striker to add to our attacking options. Maybe Moyes will go back in for that Rindaroy fella we had on trial in January, as back up to Leighton Baines. Believe his contract was running out also.

Think there will be maybe two 'big' money signings. One of them hopefully being Donovan and we could do with a young, creative cm, who can step in when Arteta is out injured.

I've posted this previously, but will post again.

Source at Leeds, says Jermaine Beckford is coming to Everton.

Coupled to the other two signings one confirmed, one LCAB indicated and I think that for March thats good going.

With more to come as well as contract renewals.

One signing in the 10-15 mill bracket i would think, prob what we gain in Euro prize money and the new Tv deal will be swallowed up on the short fall made on the PL prize money, Tv showings and FA Cup/Carling Cup run of previous years. Maybe with a few mill to spare and a supplement few million from merchandise sponsership etc.

Though new contracts may swallow a lot of that up.

A supplement of frees and loans on top of the one signing i woud think.

The Marquee signings of yesteryear will not happen;
1. We don't have the money.
2. Getting credit atm is proving difficult for anyone nevermind Everton.

Donovan would be a good signing for us, but giving how well he integrated into our style putting in some really good performances, it'll for sure alert other clubs... as you know Everton don't/can't afford to get into bidding wars. Guys of this calibre certainly don't come cheap.

Donovan seems like an honest guy. I think he'd be reluctant to join anyone else apart from Everton to be honest
