Yup. As far as racism goes in Turkish footy that was something of a watershed.
Trabzonspor chairman Mehmet Ali Yılmaz in a press conference after TS suffered a bad defeat described Kev as an 'unbalanced cannibal' (Dengesiz yamyam).
The immediate result being that Campbell and even more notably team captain Ogun Temizkanoglu vowed never to play for the team again as long as Yilmaz was chairman. Both left, followed later by Yilmaz voted out by the board.
There's still a lot of racism in Turkish footy but this incident, and the intense media reaction to it gave those who oppose it a huge boost, and put the subject firmly on the agenda.
