The 1980's: Mass unemployment, the Falklands, riots, Thatcher, cocaine, yuppies, the heroin epidemic, AIDS, the destruction of working class communities that still haven't recovered, the miner's strike, Orgreave, the Beanfield, SPG's, the elevation of selfish individualism over community spirit, seeing my friends parents losing their homes and livelihoods left right and centre, debt replacing wages, the destruction of working class solidarity, the seeds sown for what we're reaping now.
A bit of boss music towards the middle/end of it doesn't make it an ace decade. It was quite **** for an awful lot of people
Groucho nails it.
Nostalgia always makes me uncomfortable, to be honest.
You could say that about every single decade.
Nostalgia ain't what it used to be, it was much better in the 70's. I can't beleive only tow votes for that wonderful decade. You're just a bunch of young pups.
You quite clearly couldn't.
The 60's in Liverpool must have been boss.. 1966 must have been great to be a blue as well !
I think everyone will vote for the twenties
