If we sell Beattie, we HAVE to bring in someone else, I cant see Moyes leaving us in that sort of position, he has something planned...

Cahill isn't away that long according the OS.. it's not that long.

I wouldnt be so sure of that. Remember when we only had Bent? I'm sure Moyes would like to bring a striker if we ger rid of BT, but thats not to say it will happen.

Well McFadden isn't crocked and played and scored recently. Lukas is banging them in for fun. Cahill isn't even a striker and Vaughan isn't a regular really, no more so then Anichebe.

Moyes will only sell BT to finance another striker. Oh Agard is impressing too.

So it really that [Poor language removed] bad, or are we just self-loathing again?

As Ghost has said, don't be surprised if Lukas and/or Agard play this season. Lukas has already played a few games for Swindon so isn't some wide eyed rookie, certainly more experienced than Anichebe and Vaughan when they came into the side.

I dont think its being pessimistic to say that we do need another striker, especially if BT goes. I think we have a good bunch of young potential strikers, and we're not doomed if BT goes and no-one comes in, but unless we get a bit lucky we're certainly not gonna be equiped enough in that department with europe and whats looking to be a very competitive league campaign coming up.

McFadden simply isnt good enough as first choice, neither to be fair is Anichebe on a full time basis (yet, hopefully he will improve) and Lucas is way too young.

We definitely have good fill in players to partner Johnson, but none have proved their good enough to stay there so far, other than probably Vaughan.

We're hardly doomed, but we're certainly a bit weak upfront.

I agree that we do need more cover if BT goes, mostly in case AJ gets injured. as long as he's fit, worst case scenario we revert to 451, but if AJ's out, while Vaughan's still out, that's a problem.

Although I have a sneaking suspicion about Faddy this season...
