This is what Moyes was supposed to have said about Baines and Fellaini and Martinez rubbished it. He siad that they can achieve things with us. He is not about to say that Barkley can become a star but will have to leave to keep progressing.

Newspapers don't say things are a direct quote when they're not as a mater of course.

I think the quote with 'it's not positive to keep him' is very much saying Barkley would leave. If that is what Martinez was supposed to have said, which I very much doubt he did. This article is typical of the anti Everton articles that have periodically appeared, particularly in the Mirror. It gets the desired effect, 'Barkley's going to leave' , 'yes typical Everton sell sell sell and sell again'. 'The board are crap because they will sell our best player/s'. 'We'll never get anywhere like this'. Blah, blah, blah.
Non story dreamt up by some hack, using rehashed 'players will have to leave Everton to get better'.

Just try reading the ENTIRE article not just the headline and first few para's, its actually a positive everton article if you do, ive quoted the part earlier in this thread in big bold letters if needed ^^
I'd have gone mad if we hadn't taken £27 million for lescott and Fellaini so bar Rooney which other prized asset have we sold recently? Rodwell could be argued but £12million!!
I have made my point more clearly in several subsequent posts.. If we got 40 million for Barkley how much would be spent on new players goin by our track record

The way I take Martinez's comments is he's saying Barkley can help Everton over the next few seasons become a force and if anyone would want to buy him it would bring Everton a lot of money. lol
