Ok lads, lasses and pineapple on pizza lovers. I've just got in from work and its been a proper sh@tty day, anyway I get in and the Mrs says I've got something for you, an early birthday present (birthday not until April) she gave me an envelope and inside is a booklet and letter stating I'm going to be playing on the Goodison pitch for Football Aid!

Now bear in mind I'm 32, I have to kids and when it sunk in what she had just given me well I couldnt put it into words just running around the house like a loony! I went on the pitch in 95 after the Wimbledon game but never anything like this!

Has anyone done Football Aid or played at Goodison?

..............I played a bit when I was younger and Goodison is on my CV. 0-0 draw, so didn't score on that occasion but did so at the likes of Old Trafford in the Stretford End. Long time ago now, but running out at the Old Lady was special for this Evertonian and I'm sure you'll love the experience.

Mate your legs will go like jelly it will feel like you have divers boots on, you will miskick the ball and fall over. You will go bright red when you get the ball and people will laugh at you.

I can take the offer off you if you are a bit awe struck playing on the sacred turf and don't want to embarass yourself :dodgy:

PS Jammy get.

Good luck but to answer your question I have never played on the pitch.

Sorry for asking but who did you play for? and sorry are you someone we may have heard of and please be honest

So jealous, only got on the pitch once when Bob latchford scored on his debut at Goodison - too fast for the copper though.

i considered doing the footy aid thing a few years ago while i was playing but couldnt afford the money. Now when I perhaps could, two ACL ruptures and although mended, i've not played for 7 years. Would love to though. Have fullfilled other ambitions of similar ilk like racing at Brands Hatch Donington and Oulton Park but the Goody thing is still a big tug

I'd do this but i'm on apprenticeship wage (2quid p/h) so i get 400quid a month. Not wasting 2months wages on it.
