What is improvement?

I
I'm 41 and the dark days were pre-Moyes, sorry but I'll defend Moyes to the hilt! He gave us back a back our pride in our club (figuratively speaking) when Everton were going nowhere but downhill fast. You can barely remember the mid 80s 'glory years' if at all so the Moyes era, all be it we never won anything, we were always in the mix. It wasn't Moyes who kept dragging us down it was a board (and again I'll stick up for Kenwright too to a certain extent due to the criminal we had before) who through poor management of the business and lack of knowhow to capitalise what we had, that there was never any real cash for Moyes to spend.

Jean-Paul Sartre: “Anything, anything would be better than this agony of mind, this creeping pain that gnaws and fumbles and caresses one and never hurts quite enough.”

Improvement needs to be gradual over the next 3 windows. To the sum of 40 to 50 million each time. your squad value in the main will tie in with your league position. The top 6 now have the top squads. We sit 9th with a squad valued the 7th best.

Where do you expect us to finish this season?

And what constitutes an improvement from the dark days under Moyes and Martinez?

For me it's not about the league finish, it means nothing. We won't finish in the top 4 and the Europa League is a hinderance.

It's ALL about the FA Cup. We need to win it so we can build on that and move forward.

Placing Moyes and Martinez in the same bracket (dark days)

Mutant.

It's not about were you finish in the league, it's about winning the FA Cup so we can build on that and move forward......is that right, I can't believe things were this simple

Bit unfair to incorporate Moyes into failure, stale maybe in the last few years, I fail to believe anyone could have done any better given the circumstances.
We need Europe and throwing it all at League and FA Cup. Be nice Wembley win and could be by- product of progession, but the aim is Europe. I can see improvements from Martinez ethos, fitness is looking better and now we are competing in games longer and pressing teams. Good transfer window to top off the good work in progress and who knows!

Improvement for me would be top.half of the table with a couple of players coming in with scope to get better. We to bring in one or two tried and tested premier league players it we also need 2 or 3 players who have potential to move us on.
So top half and a good transfer window.
