Anyone got the stats on Lescotts scoring? Is he the leading scorer for CBs in the prem for the past two terms? How much cash would those goals take to replace?

Nope. And not just because he's sick.

Richards isn't as good as Lescott so we would need the 15M we got for the sale to chase a replacement, since Richards isn't good enough to start for a team fighting for an European slot (if he were.. ManC wouldn't offer this deal).

I'd take Richards as a backup behind Jags, Lescott and Yobo with the hope that Moyes can get his career back on track, but not as a replacement for one of them.

I'd be interested in knowing out of all of us who would we prefer if it was a straight choice between Moutinho and Defour.

I doubt anybody has seen them both enough to judge, ive seen The Mout, but havent seen much of Defour. So I would vote The Mout, but others may have seen more of Defour so they would pick him.

But as goat has said before, Naughton could play on the right with Neville at right back. It's all about flexibility, because you rarely have a fully fit squad so you need options. Having a midfield of, Pienaar, Osman, Felli, Cahill, Arteta, Defour, Neville, Gosling, Rodwell and Naughton (if needed) would certainly leave Moyes with plenty of options.

And pretty much every player in the team bar the forwards can play in at least 2 positions. I do like the idea of getting an out and out right winger with pace, but obviously its finding them at the right price.
