What if Martinez stays.....

I've never actually felt more disheartened watching everton than I do at the moment. For all this talk of entertaining football I watch football to see us win. And the fact he can't deliver us that other than over the bottom 3 sides I'm not excited over the next couple of seasons of 10-12th place finishes.

If you watch football merely to see Everton "win" then boy did you ever pick the wrong team to follow.

Do you not feel a sense of belonging with the club?

Do you not have a love for EFC that transcends all else that may befall it over the course of a season?

That Everton's very existence is what enriches your life, irrespective of winning, losing or drawing?

Love the club for what it brings to your life......do not let it depend on the winning of games.

If you do, you are in for many unhappy days during the rest of your life, no matter who the manager is :(

Martinez is of course staying for at least 3 more seasons.

Then we will see the best team full of young superstars in world football....

2 more added each summer and more through the u21s..not far to go.

Champions league in 2 seasons...

Vault me.

All blues who want Martinez out should take a step back for a moment.

Why do we go the match?

We go the match to watch us win, we go to be entertained, we go for the atmosphere, we go in the hope that we may win a cup or the league. (We don't go for the Chang beer)

We want a team to compete with the best, we want a team of local youth players in it, we also want a manager who gets Everton and who has the same ambitions as us supporters.

We have that at the moment in Martinez, OK we our not defending great at the moment, but this team know they are good, we play most teams off the park and have something special around the corner, I also think most fans do as well, this is why we our all so frustrated.

I will leave you with this point, we play Man city shortly in a cup semi final, as fans we all know we have a great chance to win it, that is all down to Martinez and the team he has built, he has the team fearing no one could we have said the same under Moyes?

An FA Cup final and a League Cup semi final?

Deary me.

Of course I do but their are fans of this club that care more about style than results, when it's results that win you trophies/have you going on European away days. Football at the end of the day is a sport/competition and I want to see my team succeed and do well.

That's the frustrating thing we have the team to actually do well but the current manager is to tactically naive to match the talent in the changing room. I would love 4-0 wins playing fantastic football but if that can't happen I would pick the scrappy 1-0 win over newcastle over the 3-3 draw at bournemouth any day of the week. I want my team spoke about as succeeding not as underachieving.

We want a team to compete with the best, we want a team of local youth players in it,

Leighton Baines (Kirkby - that's us bringing Kirkby back inside the City limits for this exercise and not, for example, when talking about Tesco stadiums and the birthplace of Steve the Starfish)
Ross Barkley (Wavertree)

we also want a manager who gets Everton and who has the same ambitions as us supporters.

It's our ambition to finish mid-table and barely win a home game? Or 10 games 0 wins 5 draws 5 losses against top ten sides this season, seven at home? Someone should instruct the crowd to stop booing then, they are getting what they want....

I like martinez i even like all the waffel and bollocks he talks. We've got what could be a great team. All he needs to do is take head out of his arse work on the defence and get rid of tim. Ive got my holiday booked for florida he can take my seat on the plane

Assuming he stays, lets say we finish mid table and Stones and Lukaku go, we don't get taken over, and we go into next season defending like the keystone cops without a 20 goal a season striker. Sorry guys, my cup is half empty, I hate New Year. Cheer me up ffs.
So we all know that Rom has had an amazing season this year and Stones is on his way to the top. What I'm confused about in this scenario is that in it, both of them leave but you leave it at that and forget the obvious fact that they will be replaced (in this hypothetical scenario we don't know by who) hopefully by people as good or promising along with a couple others. I also don't want them to go but don't see it as a death sentence for the club.

I think they mean that we tend to attack well with intent - defending let's us down but the desire to win is there. We may finish lower than we'd like but the intent to succeed is there, it just doesn't always work out well n

I think that was his point, rather than folk being happy to finish 11th, which obviously we're not. I'm not anyway.
