alan ball

Player Valuation: £70m
As an Evertonian, what about the club has shocked you the most. It may have been a bereavement of a former player or a result.
For me personally, the first thing that shocked and upset me was the sale of Alan Ball, I was absolutely devastated. Result wise. it would have to be the FA cup defeat in 68 to WBA. I seem to remember selling Joe Royle to Manchester City on Christmas eve 1974 ruined my Christmas
Obviously losing to underdogs in cup competitions is a blow but those mentioned are the main ones I can think of.
The deaths of Bally, Labby were also very sad having met Labby two days before he died to sign a picture from my childhood days.
The 5-0 defeat to the enemy will go on the list too.
One last one, I remember coming home from a game on the 21st December 1974 as we had just surrendered a 2 goal lead to relegation fodder Carlisle United and lost 3-2.
Howard Kendall to Bilbao? Another stinker
Isn't it funny what you can still remember? Over to you and your experiences

when we beat united on pens at wembley, thought we had no chance when it went to pens.

losing 2-1 to shrewsbury was shocking and embarassing.

I'd say the Wigan game last season but I wasn't that surprised tbh.

I had a bad feeling even before I heard Neville was starting in midfield.
