What happened to the friendship between blue and red?

I think it started to deteriorate way before the internet came along.

But lets not get down too much about it, much of the "friendy" derby still remains, you just have a few who take it way too far
.

I do agree with you, Sim, but the forums haven't helped matters, some of the bile that is spat on them is awful and does wind people up, even the most laid back of people. I also don't think the media help, the merseyside derby was always famous for its 'friendly' banter and because they couldn't understand it, they stir things up. Take last weekend for instance, why was only the negative publicity given about evertonians? The media now have a more heated rivalry to write about.

Yeah I agree some stuff is said on the forums that you wouldn want your kids to read, but then again the stuff thats said on the terraces isnt exactly clean either.

A large section of the media support liverpool and if they dont then their jounalists who buy into the "big 4" hype believe that all fans support them, so we're never going to win against them via the media.

I was born to despise them. They are scum. If an "all out civil war" as one suggested every broke out I'd be the first to sign up, all I can think of is let me at 'em. Hate them with a passion.

Sorry to upset some, but i dont agree with most of the posts. Iv been going to derby games since mid/late eighties. An never remember a 'friendly derby'. In my eyes it's always been the same. You say we should get along? well no i dont want to be nice to the as much as i dont want to be nice to city, villa, spurs an especilly newcastle.

I hate these fukkers, they make my blood boil. The so called 'friendly derby' has gone. I cant stand these self rightious knobs, so arregant an full of [Poor language removed].

It went to far on sunday i'll have that. But myself i'll sing about gerrard because i hate him so much when he ran down the bullens rd with tounge out after scoring an the [Poor language removed] he comes out with, The diving Ttwat. He can handle it for 100k a week.

As i said dont want to upset but..............FUKK 'EM

Read that and explain how we are supposed to 'get along'.

I've no desire to tbh. Sod em. I enjoy the derby banter and game as much as I ever have.

That piece is a prime example of the vile set of turds that exist in that place, and that is a simple fact.

There was a time when you'd have the banter, you'd have the laugh and a gang of you would go off to the match from your local, both cloours together, no problem. Arrogance breeds contempt which in turn breeds hatred and reading that artcile goes a long way toward proving those principles(n)

Any respect i had for them has gone.

I just [Poor language removed] hate them now.
