What does Moyes have to do in 2013?

Well, on the back of that bitterly disappointing 2-1 loss to Chelsea, 2012 has drawn to an end with an utterly undeserved final act for the blues. It's been a great last half of last season and first half of this season. We find ourself within touching distance of the top four, while last year we were closer to the bottom three at this juncture and really playing some dire, dire footy.

However, our great start has been marred by a certain amount of holes in the squad that threaten to cost us dearly over the course of a season. We leak goals at an alarming rate, Heitinga looks like he could give a fook, Jelavic is largely without aid in terms of a strike force and our seemingly deep central midfield stable is only deep thanks to the worthless (my opinion) services of Mr. Hitzlsperger. We run the risk of coming oh so close to the top four, only to suffer the same fate of Europa League football. Chelsea looks like they're on their way now into 3rd place solidity at the very least, Arsenal looks like a Wenger team again and Tottenham is a really good team that promises to add either Sneijder or, ahem, Moutinho in January and improve more.

So, the road isn't easy, chico has covered that and we all know what the path looks like all too well. So, the question is: what do Moyes and Blue Bill have to do in the second half of the season to propel our quest for Champs League football? In my opinion, we need a CM, desperately. Either a holding midfielder like Odjidja-Ofoe (if that's even right) would really suit me, as would a more attacking option allowing Felli to drop deeper on occasion and augment the holding crew. Heitinga needs to go, hopefully a big club finds it within themselves to cough up 8-10 million pounds for a player who was poor in the Euros and has been even worse this season. As a replacement, I would be fine with Lescott, but only if it was with a view towards a permanent deal, as Distin surely can't have much more left in him. Finally, we need another attacking option, I won't dare mention a certain Schalke evertonian in name, but he would be a great option.

This window will largely determine the future of Moyes' Everton reign, how do you think the team should be strengthened and how should we approach our second half? COYB IMWT

No new players will be signing in January because Moyes has not signed a new contract. Kenwright will not bring in any players as a new manager might not rate them and any money available will be kept for the new man. Moyes is at the crossroads of his career,he needs to decide how he moves forward. Should he stay and just keep taking his wages and keep moaning about having no money to spend or show ambition and seek another challenge at a club with cash to spend. If he goes so be it as EFC is bigger than any one man. I wont lose any sleep, bring in the Wigan manager.

when we were twatting teams left right and centre at the end of last season was felli alongside gibson or behind jelly?
If he was alongside gibson then:

1. Keep felli next to gibson FFS!

2. Flog Heitinga and Gueye and try bring in £5-6 mil of cash

3. shake kenwright down for a few quid £2-4 mil would be great

4. Bring in Lescott on loan with option to buym if not another good CB,

5. bring in a creative player behind jelly mentioned before Ruiz would be brilliant and I would be happy with moyes using the cash above to put in a £10 mil or so bid for him with fulham in freefall atm.

Howard

Coleman Jagielka Lescott Baines

Felliani Gibson

Mirallas Ruiz Pienaar

Jelavic

quality team that would be with a bit of wheel n dealin from moyes
