What does being an Evertonian mean to you?

I started following football back in the early 80's when I started playing the sport as a young not yet tattooed person that I am today. It was mostly a national team thing for me as there was so limited access to European club football in the States. I first only heard about the RS and Bayern Munich which lead me to be curious about club football although neither club really pulled me in as a supporter of their clubs. It wasn't till just a few years ago where I finally had access to so much club football on tv thanks to Fox Soccer Channel, Setanta, ESPN, Gol tv, and ESPN Deportes. That along with the internet helped me finally come to my senses when it came to clubs that called me their own. it was Everton and BVB Dortmund. Something about the People's Club in England and Dortmund in Germany that WOW'd me from the action on the pitch to the awesome atmosphere in the crowd.

I enjoy watching almost all football matches on tv but there is nothing like the pull that I feel when Everton is going to be on tv that upcoming weekend. I see the players coming on the pitch and the crowd singing and I think that there are many of you lucky folk on the GOT that are amongst those lucky few that got to Goodison that particular weekend.

It's a sunny afternoon in September 67 or 68 when the School of Science are destroying some nomarks from the Midlands. There are massive growls of appreciation from the Evertonians and the world seems to be perfect. It's the Almighty Alan Ball and Mr. Alex Young setting out to show to the world that they completely get it AND that they can do it better than anyone else. It's George Best looking completely pissed off because Wilson won't allow him to have a kick. It's Billy Bremner and his corrupt Leeds sidekicks knowing they've had a real spanking.

And it's the hope that kids today or tomorrow will have the pleasure I got then.

I love my family to bits as we all do, i have a brother and a sister who have both been married twice and i have yet to attend a wedding as it clashed with Everton games each time. Nuff said!
