What do you look out for when watching football?

How a team transitions from defense to attack. Do they go through the center midfield, lop the ball up to the forwards, attack from the wings? Who controls this (and therefore the tempo of the game)? Do they counter-attack, do they work the ball up the field as a team, do they penetrate the defense or sit back and content to control the ball? How high up the field do they press the ball?

I like to see how players make themselves available for the next ball. Also the movement of strikers during forward movements.

I also love when teams score in front of the opposition fans, I'll rewind it several times to see people's day being ruined. Mmmm Schadenfreude.

Funnily enough I watch and enjoy the spectacle of the contest between two opposing groups, in a way it is similar to chess but without the board, chess pieces or the rules of chess, other than that pretty much like chess.
