A home made cottage pie, my wife's first attempt at doing so in 40 yrs of marriage.
Can I say it was worth the wait. Perfect comfort food after a brisk bike ride home in the cold after a days graft.

........and the culinary surprises keep on coming.
Fresh from basking in her success with the cottage pie, an almost Leicester type triumph with a humdinger of a steak and ale pie.
For a first attempt complete with a puff pastry topping, I swear you would not tell the difference between hers, and any of the sort you would get as pub grub.

Tuna pasta with sliced mushrooms and sugarsnap peas in a tomato sauce. Takes ten minutes to make.
Nigella has nothing on me....... unfortunately.
