I might actually change my vote to the 2010s. Got married, had my kids, bought a house, stopped taking class A's, chilled the fk out, didn't have any serious mental episodes, got two decent promotions at work. Life was pretty alright tbh. Didn't have the extreme highs and lows of the two that preceded it, but I was certainly more content in myself and life in general.

Watching the rest of the world go to pot at the same time was a bit of a drawback, mind lol

'00 was a fairly pointless decade for everything really but 2006 -2009 was great for me.

Good clubbing in Oxford, mdma was still good, birth of dubstep, going to electo nights and spending the whole weekend covering in glitter with eyeliner on and going to lectures with half of it still on my face, being head of the electronic dance music society at uni which funded us putting on club nights (making up the bar totals so we could spend the uni budget on drugs)

Can't beat it lol

Early 90s, going to raves was amazing
we thought we were gonna change the world...idealism was through the roof. But at least we had those times. Like those who did the late-60's.

2022 now...we're due an idealistic cultural revolution. But i fear the kids are too glued to their phones to make it happen.

@Sinski 1990 wasn't a bad year for you either! There was some serious celebrating in my house that year, from June all the way through to the middle of September alright, but the celebrations in your place on the evening of October 6th 1990 possibly could have been even bigger!

I was only 14 so no big partying by me and my dad wasnt like that anyway. We always had a friend over who watched the grand final every year who was a mad essendon supporter and from memory he didnt hang around too long after the game finished. 2010 on the other hand was great.

When i say party i meant we were in some permanent state of blissful happiness. Irelands world cup ended at the end of June, and then we had the exploits of both Cork teams to keep us occupied until September 16th. The whole of the 90's was a brilliant decade for me, and that summer of 1990 with Ireland at the World Cup and Cork in the GAA doing so well, just kickstarted what for me was a very special period of time in my life.

2020s
Took both my children for their first legal drink
Joined my first band
Finally bought a Fender Precision bass after 35 years of craving one
Met heaps of new friends by being in a band
Lots of afternoon sex because the children are always out
Got a huge promotion at work
Started a new job in a completely new field
Travelled to parts of WA I had never been to before
Had lots of laughs reading all the anti vax, anti lockdown, anti science nonsense for the past couple of years

Late Seventies we’re pretty good to be honest, but has to be be the 80’s for me!
Followed Everton home and away, Wembley became like a second home for a while, best team in England and would have carried on winning stuff but for the European ban!
Met my the girl who became, and still is my wife! Still went Goodison every other week but not so much away ☹️!
Bit of cash in the back pocket, a few great holidays, great memories, good times!

And then the kids arrived ?!

The only downside for people who were 20 in the 70s is that we'll be 70 in the 20s
Interesting point this, I used to think I wish I was born earlier to have a chance of sering loads of bands I missed, now I wish I was born 19 years ago!!
