Waging Heavy Peace, the biography of Neil Young, utterly brilliant and written in an off-the-wall, random yet highly engaging style. Not a blow by blow chronological account of everything that has happened in his life, but pitched much more at an emotional level of love, gratitude and sadness.

Someone to watch over me by Yrsa Sigurdsdottir.
One of a Great series of lawyerly murder investigations based in post crash Iceland.
With a spooky angle too!
Her "silence of the sea" is magnificent and a gripping locked room mystery on a yacht

I'm currently reading Sycamore Row by John Grisham (Kindle edition). I imagine there's quite a cross section of literary tastes amongst Evertonians so I thought I'd ask the question .

I read that book a couple months ago and it's great!

I just started reading The Professor by Robert Bailey this morning.

currently flip flopping between Hitch-22 (hitchens autobiography) and Buddhism without belief- Stephen Batchelor

mostly read only non fiction

Wool and the books that follow are very good.

Currently lined up on Kindle and real paperback:
1491 (history of Americas before Columbus, excellent so far)
The Last Battle (true story of the only time German and American troops fought on the same side in WW2)
Stone Spring by Stephen Baxter (from a recommendation here - OK so far)
The Dark Road by Ma Jian (only read a bit so far but it looks as depressing as I thought it might be)
