I'm listening to Deacon Blue's new album. They - of "Dignity", "Real Gone Kid" fame - obviously reckon there's life in the old dog yet and they could be right.

It's a hymn to lead singer and writer Ricky Ross' home Glasgow which needs no introduction as spur of sentiment and crying into beer. He's actually from Dundee but no matter.

The music is anodyne stuff but I've feeling it could be a grower. They'd better hurry up as it's been out since March!

@COYBL25 what do you think of Peter Hook mate? Wouldn't sit down and listen to his stuff but saw him live a couple of years ago and thought he was ace. Closest you can get to hearing Joy Division live I guess. Got tickets to see him in October. Will prob get cancelled like.

I must be one of the few people inc you who likes him. I love the way he plays bass and
It’s a crying shame him and Sumner can’t sort out their differences.

I saw his band Monaco a couple of times in small venues and they were really good.
