This is my favourite clip of them. The bit when Mavers goes "about wha'?" to the interviewer at the end is possibly the most scouse thing ever.

Nice Gibson Les Paul Custom on the lead guitarist, with the company name hidden (probably because the TV company had a rule about not promoting brands). Mavers is playing an Ovation.

They played this in the studio In front of Lilywhite and he told Mavers it was one greatest songs he'd ever heard.

Lilywhite subsequently asked Mavers if they record it and Lee 'no it's for the second album".

I personally think this could have been up there with There she goes if it was ever released.

Get on the bassline

I'm on a roll. This is the second song I've posted previously that's gone to number 1 in the UK singles chart this year. This one took a little bit longer (18 months). Incidentally, this is the song that led to her being dropped by her label when it bombed when it was first released in 2020. I'm assuming the guy who pushed that particular button no longer works for Atlantic.

Listened to the new album from Wigan outfit The Lathums today. I've heard of them but never really listened to them. I absolutely loved it. Loved it. The lead singers voice is just incredible, but the whole thing is fantastic to be honest. Real noughties Indie vibe with just a hint of The Coral and Last Shadow Puppets in there. This is one of the slower tracks on the album but probably the best for showcasing his voice.
