WHAT A GREAT IDEA THAT WOULD BE

I have often thought as a club, we don't do enough for our former players and when we do it's when it's too late. For example we have had 2 World Cup winners at the club ie Ball and Wilson. We have lost a legend in Dave Hickson, so why have we no statues errected of these heros?

An idea perhaps at the start of the season when we are selling our season tickets, maybe the club should put £2 on each season ticket with let's say 26,000 sold giving us a total of £52k which would be enough surely to pay for at least one statue.
Wouldn't it be great to have someone to kep Dixie company?

maybe if we add £10 on each season ticket, we can have enough to keep those club legends alive or conduct research into reversing the ageing process?

Would you trust the Board to spend your extra £2 as intended though.

I'd rather any monies to be donated to the former player foundation, To help the ex players who have fallen on hard times and with health care assistance,
We don't need any statues imo.

i think something like a statues should be reserved for people who did great things for everton, as opposed to winning the world cup with england.

hickson definitely fits the bill as club legend statue worthy though, we've had a heck of a lot of good players though, so it's tough.

We only need one statue and we have it. Give any spare money to the older players who have a need. In fact a better idea instead of charging the fans more would be to get the players to donate 5% of their salary into an ex players fund, it would soon grow and be worth quite a lot to ex players........

Even 1% of the players wages would make a massive contribution to the former players foundation!

I think the fact we only have a statue of Dixie shows our class. We don't stick one up for just anyone, but he was outstanding. A true great, not just of our club, but of English football.

It would be nice to have both, statues and also funds ro go to the ex players.

I like the idea of 1% of wages going to ex players and the current players wouldnt miss it. Would show alot of class.

Statues for Everton Greats such as Kendall, Royle etc wouldnt be amiss. Hopefully one for stones and barkley soon.
