Moyes moved Leon Osman into Cahill's customary position against Brendan Rodgers's team and was vindicated when the midfielder headed home the only goal of the game.

He said: "I felt we needed to change things against Swansea. We've played Tim as a centre-forward in a 4-4-2 in the last few weeks and we have not scored any goals, so we had to try something different and went with Louis up top, with Ossie behind him."

Erm... no, no you haven't. WTF?

Its great how he's just admitted playing his favourites week after week even tho they are out of form.

Shame he won't give other players who are more effective up front this chance...like our top scorer ffs.

O god Moysey stop testing my love for you! If putting a midfielder up front with a striker hasn't worked, don't revert back to going 4 4 1 1 ffs. Try playing another striker up there!!!!

Aggggh its not even difficult.

If you have a brain

Behave Moyesey lad. I'm struggling to remember a game when we started with an actual 442 formation since we had some brief glimpses of a promising Saha/Beckford frontline last season. Although it's entirely plausible that I'm wrong of course. But still, the point is get Jo on ffs.

I clocked that - what the hell is Moyes on about? If you are playing 4-4-2 play two out and out strikers and work on a partnership. Cahill is most effective ghosting from deep. Or was. Not that I think we've been playing 4-4-2.

Maybe the reason we look like we don't play 4-4-2 is because he's using the wrong personell and their natural inclincation is to play deeper? Who knows, I just found that assertion baffling!

Why do people try and defend this 4-4-2 ****. Crap formation in this day and age. It's quite obvious we'v been playing it with Cahill and saha. No top team plays a natural 4-4-2 anymore!! Ffs

We look the most fluent when we play 4-2-3-1.
