When the news broke in London:

Some deal that, but as has been pointed out they've received the biggest hand out from the British Public ever, maybe they could do the decent thing & give visiting fans free entry on account of them contributing to the stadium ?

'Lowest Price Band' though ? wasn't there a document when Stadium was 1st being converted about the distance the seats are from the pitch ? I'm presuming that the cheapest will probably be the farthest & also the front rows that are obstructed completely by Advertising boards, Juve's old Stadio delle Alpi was infamous for that and the front of the stadium always empty as you couldn't see a thing.

not sure if they went with this idea ?

I am really exited about the "seaside " style telescopes that are to be placed at the end of each gangway in the upper tiers to allow those that wish to , to identify the players.
dont be alarmed as this will be free to season ticket holders by way of an incentive and the machines can be activated by simply swiping your entry card thru the reader ,the viewing time you get will be dependant on the length of service and will vary from supporter to supporter ,for all other clients there will of course be a money slot !

Two somewhat unrelated points about the stadium conversion:

The cost of the new roof is £41m. At the time of construction, McAlpine put forward proposals to ammend the original specification for the roof to cover all spectators at an additional cost of £5m - this plan was rejected.

Secondly, as part of the Newham deal to put £40 million into this, they receive a 35% share of the lease and revenues arising from it. The most disturbing aspect though of the deal is that they will receive 100,000 free ticket a year to distribute to children - disturbing given that Leyton Orient are Newham's incumbent football club.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that the closest seat in the front row of the upper tier is further away from the pitch than currently the furthest seat on the back row of anywhere in the Boleyn ground.

I've not been on a West Ham awayday so can't picture the size or shape of the stadium properly but that's still an incredible thought, imagine say the backrow of the main stand being the first row of a top tier! Crazy.

I've got to be honest I can't see them staying there long, for all the reasons put about for us or other clubs needing a new stadium like 365 days a year usage and extra corporate finances etc etc just don't seem relevant to them. I think it will end up a empty souless pit that drags them down.

WHU have to GIVE 4-5k tickets per game to local groups. When they did this at Upton Park for a game this season, it nearly got very messy when the locals got their prayer mats out on the concourse at HT. There are probably some YouTube vids about.

Cutting the price of ST's is purely an effort to get bums on seats, they struggle to sell all the ST's for the 36k capacity UP. They always have full page ads in the London papers trying to sell last minute tickets even for the 'big games'.

Just got off the dog & bone with me china plate, we're off up the frog & toad to the rub a dub for a couple of pints of Uri Geller followed by a nice Ruby Murray, wont get any change out of the couple of Ayrton Sennas. Gonna get some ear'ole from the old trouble & strife.
