Liverpool is known for stabbings/muggings mate. Look at the Oldham fan who got stabbed and the Hull coach getting bricked. Stanley Park is known for horror stories. A QPR Fan got stabbed outside goodison last season. All stories I've heard mate.

A QPR fan stabbed an Everton fan

And for what it's worth, whilst London is a far, far larger city than Liverpool, I would be much more worried about going out in London and being mugged or stabbed than I ever would be going out in Liverpool

I was in London a couple years back as a few mates were playing a gig and one lad who came with us got mugged as he went down a side path for a piss. People get mugged/stabbed/shot all over the world.

I've been to as many away games as possible over the past 10 years and barring one incident in Manchester, I've had no problems having a laugh with the home fans or have any reason to fear for my own safety.

You need correcting on that QPR fan thing. It was quite a famous story and was the other way round - a QPR fan stabbed an Everton fan, after the Everton fan had tried to stop a gang of QPR fans attacking a female Everton fan:

As for the other stuff the key in the vast, vast majority of the stories you have heard is LIVERPOOL FANS.

We are Everton. Not saying we are saints or don't have idiots, but 99% of the publicised incidents of late have involved Liverpool fans on Liverpool FC matchdays.

We very very rarely hear of any trouble surrounding Everton fans on Goodison match days.

Near every city in England* is a ****hole from what I've seen of them. Every city has its lovely side and the horrible

Don't go down alleyways or a side path then. It's a safe city and a wonderful one.

Hahahahaha Safe and wonderful just don't go anywhere poorly lit

London is a dump, Your football team play like there scared to put it on the deck and your manager is a dinosaur

Hope you go down this season

Had a few drinks with some Hammers fans at the end of last season in the city centre. Can't imagine you'll get trouble unless you're looking for it.

Interesting. QPR are known tossers.

Seriously mate, 99% of people that come to Liverpool for the weekend, for the football and then a night out, and to see the sights, they all go away extremely pleasantly surprised and vowing to come back. There's still a myth that Liverpool as a city is this or that, but once people actually come here and they see all the touristy stuff we have to offer and how great the pubs and city centre and waterfront are, they are utterly stunned.

As for the crime stereotype aspect, it is a constant battle to overturn the myth. They just announced the top 20 postcodes for burglaries in the UK. Only 2 in Liverpool, positions 6th and 7th and both in more affluent areas. The worst place for crime is Manchester. Same goes for car crime too.
