TyphooToffee

Player Valuation: £70m
I was at Welling United yesterday but stood with the Luton fans as two of my Hatters mates came to the match and Welling were safely mid table. It was nice to celebrate with the Luton fans on the pitch afterwards and then with five or six pints of real ale in a terrific micro brewery/pub in Welling afterwards.

It's a long story but I know Luton's chairman, Nick Owen, and was so pleased for him that, after all the harsh treatment handed out to them, the Hatters are back in the league.

why are the police protecting the posts? did they think the fans would nick the goal?
If they were trying to stop fans getting on the pitch then they had already failed miserably.

By the way, I'm also Blue Peter as well as TyphooToffee, pete the postie, Everton1963 and probably others. I'm hoping one of he Mods help me out so I can amalgamate them all into TT

Had some good games against Luton back in the 80s, semi at Villa Park for one and John Baileys goal against them about 83

I was at our 5-1 win at Kenilworth Road in May 1983. It was the first game I took my son to see after he decided to support Spurs. Despite the win he still supports Spurs. Maybe I should have taken him to the 1984 FA Cup final instead because shortly after that he was given Glenn Hoddle's World Cup shirt and that was that!

I am Brian. And so is my wife.

How on earth did you end up with that lot?

I'm off to see Luton v Bury tonight. I rock.

Seriously I have a soft spot for this club. I know it's not clever to say it but they're definitely a "second club" for me. Nothing like the passion for Everton obviously but the way the club has kept it together is unreal. Their fans are great - especially away where they'd take as many as they were allowed to pretty much any sh*t hole non-league ground around the country. I watched them away at Alfreton Town in January for example where out of a total crown of 1,500 or something - about 1,200 were Luton!
