Hahaha Im going to send that pic to a few friends (the weir one) Havent laughed so hard at something so daft in a long time

it's nailed on!!! Davey Davey Weir!!!

I remember us signing richard gough when everyone said he was passed it, and he was outstanding. If some Italian defenders can keep playing until 102 years old in Seria A, (for Milan no less), then why not Davey Weir?

Because they're Maldini and Nesta. Davey Weir is Davey Weir.

I'd love him back at Goodison, not sure at 64 he can play though.

I've a depressingly obvious feeling this is nailed on though.

Maybe we're going to be the first club to have a full time Masters team playing in the Premier League.

Hanneman (aged 39)

Hibbert (aged 32 next month)
Weir (aged 41)
Stubbs (aged 40 - if he came out of retirement)
Neville (aged 35 on Saturday)

Cahill (aged 32)
Heitinga (aged 29 this year)
Osman (aged 31 this year)
McFadden (aged 29 this year)

Buddle (aged 30 if signed)
Saha (aged 34 this year)

Greg O'Keeffe David Weir may well prefer to play at championship club for rest of season & join #EFC coaching staff in summer

Ffs people.

Stop crying.

If Weir were to join as a player and not just a coach, alls he'd do is sit on the bench in case Duffy or Heitinga got injured and probably still wouldn't even get on in front of Rodwell or Neville at centre back.

He'd be joining as a player/coach/ for about a month and then turning his attention to full time coaching. He wouldn't get on the pitch once.

Of course if we were signing him with the intention of actually playing it'd be awful, but considering we're not I really don't see the problem.

Oh that's nice of him. Cheers Davie. Everton is just a cash cow for you to milk after all. Just come across when you want for a nice little earner off your old mate.

"David Weir wants to play football in England" -----> "We're going down ffs I hate moyes/kenwright/neville and Cahill/Hibbo/Saha shouldn't start"

Love how people will rationalise anything.

I mean, yeah, it's too easy to be negative and make fun of it and all that, but still....

Even for 'back up/sit on the bench' - this man is 41 years old. He is no longer good enough to sit on Glasgow Rangers bench every week, a team that wins virtually every week in a 2 team joke league. Why is he suddenly good enough to be 'back up' for Everton?

The lowering of standards at Everton that some fans seem to be so accepting of never ceases to amaze. Come on, get a grip. We are Everton Football Club. We shouldn't be signing a 41 year old player UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. No amount of being skint justifies it. I'd rather have someone like Upson (a free agent) on a pay-as-you-play until the end of the season than an old man like Weir. If your reasons for accepting Weir signing is simply 'We're skint', maybe you should target your ire at the person(s) responsible instead of accepting such embarrassing decisions.

Weir and Cambell at the back this is what out great club has become
