Would love it to be called off then my Christmas won't be spoiled for the second successive year after last season's 96th minute winner. Let's face it we don't have glory days against them where their fans have to suffer.

Is there a certain thresh hold that snowfall needs to pass for a match to be called off? Only been following for a few seasons and may be a first for me. Hope it's not too bad over there for you guys, this weekend is sounding like a weather nightmare where I'm at.

With amber warnings of heavy snow in the north west from 6am onwards Sunday here - they must be fairly confident it will happen although they've been wrong plenty of times before

With health and safety usually taken to extremes these days, the Manchester derby is the one probably more in doubt (but just possibly our one too)

Although I noticed some light snow while at work (in Chester) today - Manchester has its own microclimate and is a powerful magnet for bad weather, usually it rains at best.

We haven't had snow for a few years for much of Merseyside despite weather warnings every year, East Lancs nearer the Pennines, Manchester and the moors surrounding it normally get it all

I wouldn't mind it being off as Sam has only been here two minutes not two months. However Anfield hasn't had a snowed off fixture since 2010 so it must be highly unlikely despite these amber warnings. I read they're really meant to be more specific to the greater Manchester area but cover a wider area just for the weather forcasters to cover themselves and claim they're right even if off target slightly.
