We will still finish 8th.......

The difference between teams outside the top six is getting smaller. Only nine points between 8th and 15th last season.

Don’t think we can take it for granted we would finish 8th without any additions. We got outplayed by some poor teams last year and relied on the tried and tested Big Sam formula to scrape points together.

Reinforcements definitely needed if we want to secure 7th/8th.

I do love people saying loads of our squad is "championship level at best" (Which along with calling people a fraud is one of the most annoying current phrases) when they came 8th last season and have came in roughly the same place the past couple of seasons.

They are obviously not championship level at best then are they? 8th place at best maybe...

They would play better - that is, attack more constructively and defend with better co-ordination - with a manager who plays to their strengths.

I'm sure Silva will bring a better style to the team. But has he got the resources to match the existing top six? I very much doubt it.

However, it would be an improvement to compete with them home and away.

The biggest problem with us right now is the fans expect us to be fighting for Europe when in reality we are competing with everyone in terms of finances. All of the clubs are rich, so it’s almost impossible to pull the same stunt City did. That 72 point season under Martinez ruined the atmosphere at the club. We’ve all become entitled idiots
