'We only play down the left side'

Many blues and pundits alike have always been drawing attention to our huge lack of threat from the right-side, with the Baines-Pienaar combination making us somewhat of a one-trick-pony. With Hibbert not being one to go forward, and never having anyone with 'that special something' in front of him it had been quite possibly our biggest downfall.

However with the signing of Super-Kev last summer, and Coleman's revelation at right-back last year has completely changed this. Coleman not only is an exceptional, hardworking defender but he is incredible going forward, he makes beating players easier than slicing through butter and is a great crosser of the ball. Added to that we have our Belgium maestro: Kevin Mirallas. Mirallas is probably the most exciting player we Evertionians have been able to watch week in week out in recent years, and certainly makes bums leave seats. Despite having injury problems last year he had a fantastic first season for the blues and is brimming with confidence. I feel as long as Kevin can keep himself fit he, alongside Coleman, will have an incredible season. In fact, and though many will likely strongly disagree, I feel we could potentially have one of the strongest right sides in the premier league.

In a year we have transformed from all our attacks coming from the left, to now having quality on both sides of the park. I haven't even mention the young lid from Barca who adds to that exciting style of play Bobby Martinez promises to bring.

Beyond belief that many still wanted Hibbert at right back this time last season

With all due respect mate, this time last season, Coleman was untested at right back, and had always looked a little shakey. Remember Fulham away. But he has really come through that brilliantly, and proved me and I'm sure many others wrong!

Coleman is still learning (albeit pretty quickly). His crosses leave A LOT to be desired. That is his weakness in my considered opinion. But they will come. EFC is looking very fine at the mo

Colman is quickly becoming one if the mist important players in out team.....he'll be the reason we won't miss Baines if he go's

I thought it was still pretty obvious we needed to at least give him a try, as Hibbert or Neville left us unbalanced

I love the idea of our two wings being in competition with one another. Whatever Pienaar and Baines can do, Mirallas and Coleman want to match.

That's a really healthy competitive element to build, I think.
