As I said the other week after the game at Goodison - it really is very simple what they've done this season, in essence.

Off the ball - solid, organised two banks of four.

On the ball - using Elanga & Hudson-Odoi's pace out wide to stretch the play, with the primary mission of finding Wood in the box. MGW tucked in just behind is the icing on the cake.

Gibbs-White is a very good player. Unfortunately Liverpool are too distant. A head-to-head Liverpool-Forest would bring us back to the 70s.

I've always had a soft spot for Forest because of their links with Robin Hood and Garibaldi. 😀

Fair play to notts forest, they've a means of playing that is working for them, and they've got most sides by the jugular. A surprise package, bedded a few players in from last season that looked miles off. Bit of continuity and a brute up front. Goes to show what a bit of belief can do.

Strong at the back pace out wide average striker in a purple patch hitting teams on the break seen this at Wolves until it stopped working and Nuno was shown the door i say enjoy it while it lasts
top 10

Theyre having an excellent season and seem to have a few good players but I can't see it lasting for them. Every time I watch them (which isn't often) they have very little possession and don't seem to be a side anyone should be fearing.

They're having one of them seasons though where everything goes for them, and they have got themselves momentum that teams are struggling to stop. They do look excellent on the counter attack and have a lot of pace when breaking.

Wood is a solid striker but there is no way he's "this good". Fully expect him to hit a bad patch at some point and he will never hit these heights again. It happens to certain players in their career and is a one off.
