We need money, not a new manager.

Harry....

We don't have a very talented squad though. That's the problem. We have a very talented half a squad and some promising youngsters.

Out of these players what sort of teams would they be playing for???

Hibbert, ossie , Billy, Cahill, vellios, straq, McFadden, Vic,
To me these are all players who would be playing for the likes of Bolton, Sunderland, Blackburn ect. Yet were expecting these players to fire us into Europe!

Ok, my theory on moyes..

Firstly we have played different styles under moyes. When we had pienaar, Arteta and Donovan in our midfield we were playing some ofthe nicest football I've seen us play. Problem back then we needed a top striker. That was the missing piece but he had no money to buy one.

Since then we have lost those 3 players. It does make a massive difference and we still don't have that striker!

As moyes did when he first arrived he has a default way of tactics and playing to get results or enough points for safety and he reverts to this in times of need. That is what I believe he is doing at the moment. It may not be pretty we will lose but will win enough to be fine.

Unfortunately for him and us the heart of his team has been ripped out of the side over the last few years. And he is in defense default mode until he can bring in people that give him confidence to play a different way.

Other managers default modes may be different but we have a very good manager who deserves alot of credit for what he puts up with and most deffinately deserves the chance to rebuild a new team. People are just gonna have to accept this season as a write off/ transitional season (praying he gets some money)
Good shout that mate,i still think we could go down this season though and nothing yesterday made me change my mind.

in an ideal world we need both and i dont think we will see either any day soon to be honest

investment....oh god how elusive is this though im not looking for the multi billionaire anything better than our current situation would be a blessing....

manager....i think has gone stale yes we have no money and yes we hav sold players but we were always best when it was us vs the world but this character has disappeared. Tactics are just short of appauling and we cant giv out about teams parking the bus at goodison as we try to do it when we play away !!
The most used and successful pass yesterday was jags to heits or vice versa that tells it own story. We were against a big physical side with a very poor away record yet the closer we got to their goal the more the ball spent in the air. This was down to DM tactics not the players

Just a comment on the "Moyes adapting". Why shouldn't he?

He is the coach, he therefore coaches the players to play in a particular style. They are paid professionals, the best in their profession, they should be able to adapt with new tactics and styles as they have the base talent and skill. Moyes is the man who points them in the direction they take.

Moyes should have the ability to get the team playing a different game, the squad is certainly talented enough. Bet Jags doesn't hoof it 50% of the time he gets it for England, and don't tell me it's because there's lack of options in Everton's midfield, for England he's passing it to Gareth Barry ffs!

Steve Round is the coach.

He has in his time with us turned us into Mclarens England, over defensive to the point that the team forget how to play an up tempo attacking game, stale boring football that is boring as hell to watch.

I agree with what your saying mate, but we have players to replace the lesser players or at least give them a chance, surly they cant do any worse. we have 8 full internationals and some very good youngsters. take the lesser footballers out Hibbert, cahill and start to play it through the midfield. When Everton play at pace with the ball to feet we look very good, but we only do this in very small cameo's then we revert back to hoofing. Hoofing doesn't work we don't have the right players to play long ball, why can't moyes see this. Every other person who watches us on a regular basis can see it.

Yeah fire Moyes, because with the bugger all money we have we sure as hell are going to attract a better manager..

Moyes is a good manager, sure his tatics are defensive but FFS so is Jose Mourinho, differnce is JM has money, DM does not.

If we sakc Moyes the best we could do is a git the eilk of Roy Hodgson, in which case Championship here we come.

Lol.
Epic lol.

This is so untrue that it's hilarious. Have you actually watched a game of a Mourinho? There is difference between defensively aware and defensively stupid. Guess which one we are? I'll give you a hint - it's the team that can't pass for beans and hoof it every damn time. Also - at least Mourinho plays on counter when he's uber defensive. You can see in games that we DO NOT work on that aspect of the game.

FFS lads...

Spot on. We're only a few good players away from being a very good side. Unfortunately though, we need around £20m to get them in. It's quite a fine line between good and average. The squad we have now is capable of bursts of good football/results, sure but it's sure as hell not good enough to produce the goods for a whole season. That's what we see every year, poor start, good finish. We need a bigger squad with less weak links. We had it in years 07-09 and it showed - great football, goals galore and we competed on all fronts. We also had a bit of money. Not much, but that's all Moyes needed.

how about fresh ideas to how we can actually win a game rather than complementing the hell out of every team we play against.....his latest was "stoke have spent well in players like crouch"....mother of god
