We have conceded bad goals all season though its not a one off, there is a pattern and the manager can't see it.Martinez was right in his comments after the game with regards to the terrible goals conceded. I would say on a normal day that game would have been 0-0. Is it RMs tactics at the back that are causing us to leak goals or has age caught up on this once tight central defence. One way or another he has to get new blood in and they have to be ready made. Doesn't help that Coleman and Baines are not the greatest defenders
I was saying that before the game its rank bad management.Eto'o as a midfielder. FFS.

But just maybe individual performances are so bad because no one knows what they're supposed to be doing any more because of all the team changes and the lack of balance in the team selections. And maybe it's because we're not playing in tight knit groups and triangles any more, but instead all standing 15-20 yards apart so that most passes require more than one touch to keep the ball on the move. While the manager does have ultimate responsibility, I can't think of one player today that performed up to standard. And there weren't many on the bench that I could see doing better. Except some of the injured.
I don't see changing managers just to satisfy a desire for blood as sensible. Yet.
Home vs Away. No need for two holding players when playing at home against an inferior side. That's my take.
Of course when Barry is folding more than holding you're in trouble.
Very interested in what reaction and consequences there are Boxing Day. They are needed to keep the faith.
A shambles indeed, from the manager's mini-sabbatical, through the amateurish organisation of the pre-season, through the lack of fitness, right through to the continual team changes and unchanging tactics. This season has been a shambles before it even started, should the manager have been messing about at the World Cup on tv? Probably not. Should players be releasing books? It's pretty embarrassing, there doesn't seem to be any discipline at the moment, and its like players know they can take the piss a bit. Say what you want about Moyes, but he wouldn't have had players releasing books and taking the piss. I love Roberto, don't get me wrong but he needs to really get a grip of things or this season could end up a real shambles. Stop [Poor language removed] about with a crop of players who are 30+ and be a bit more flexible in his approach, and when can get back to our best.
