Difficult to pick a bit not worth quoting, but thought this bit was topical - get behind the lads tomorrow!

There is another aspect to the Everton resurrection which Newcastle fans, in particular, might care to note.

Goodison Park is packed every match with passionate supporters convinced their club is special, a sentiment endorsed by Wenger recently when he admitted playing at Everton is now a more intimidating prospect than running out at Anfield.

great article, but i thought that it should have given the fans more credit for our patience too. despite that minor criticsm, its one of the most positve articles that i have see about us for years

Actually here in the States all the footy fans I know, even the [Poor language removed] ones, like Everton. They work hard and always give it there all w/o spending a fortune and at least try to use the money we have on British players. Plus the atomsphere at Goodison is always great and how can you not like guys like Arteta and Cahill?

Though the KEIOC may differ, whatever it is, we seem to be doing it the right way.

Everton do not have the billions of a Roman Abramovich, the debt mountain of Manchester United or the resources of the Americans making such a pig's ear of their Anfield takeover.

And they can only dream of the investment Mike Ashley has promised at Newcastle.

Which is why the fact that Moyes and Everton are striking a blow for traditional values in the Premier League is so commendable.

my favourite bit, we're a football club not a corporation, we win of strategy and player development not big speculative spending, and we can still give it a go against the top clubs any day. i'm glad someone is finally taking notice.

I'm always wary of this sort of "praise"..it goes away all to easily when a couple games dont go our way,for me at least hearing a compliment from another teams fan means a hell of a lot more than these soundbites

credibility alert, credibility alert...

Tim Cahill, snapped up for £1.5million, has been a creative revelation. Lee Carsley, who cost peanuts, a solidifying force.

tweb says cars cost 1.95mill from coventry. tweb also says cahill cost 2 full mill.

Moyes has also paid big money for strikers, £11million for Ayegbeni Yakubu and £9million for Andy Johnson, but perhaps his shrewdest move of all was shelling out £3.5million for Phil Neville.

good ol tweb says...

yak 11.25
aj 8.6
nevs 3.5 congrats for the first accurate price recollection.

if we are to lambast lazy journalism, then we must stay true and lambast it all, even when we find it in an article that is full of praise for our side. had they avoided the specifics of actual fees and done a moments research then this article might be of some credit. walter signed cars. the shenanigans of the howard deal are still murky. but time in the job, patience from kenwright and from moyes and too the players has seen a great step forward and an established grounding that hopefully wont be surrendered and then allowed to erode like we have witnessed in the past.

I can't agree. I have heard too many idiots calling for Moyes's head, whereas the board have never wavered. We have had the same type of fans after we were knocked out of the CL. Also when we lost to Shrewsbury. It happens all the time. But I understand your point.
