The wages don't concern me. I have no doubt the club could find a way, if a world class player wanted to play for us -- on a free no less.


I think there are clearly bigger roadblocks than this though. Like the fact that he won't want to play for any less than the best, at least while he's in his prime. Real Madrid have to be the prime contenders.



Hopefully they'll pay big and we can get a few mil from any sell-on clauses.

I have tried to google what sort of percentage we would get as a sell on fee if Rooney is sold and i gave up after about 10 mins of looking. Has anyone got anything on this, LCAB perhaps? Going off memory the sell on fee was the only bit of the deal that I was happy with because I could have sworn it was 25%. Maybe I am making it up but that is what I remember reading at the time.

If I am right Rooney's fall out with Fergie could be massive for us. He has gone to 1 to 6 odds on to be sold in Jan. Potentially an extra 15mill in the bank for us if the 60mill price tag is correct. If Moyes were to get those funds in Jan we might just get our wish for a right sided player with pace (depending on whether the buyer paid all the funds at once).
