Wayne Rooney is arrested for drink driving

Some of the views on here are mind boggling.

It's worth remembering we are just shaved apes at the end of the day. Rooney is an alpha male. 90% on here will never know what it's like to have the testosterone levels he has. Or ever have women throw themselves at them every time they go out. Easy to preach when you have no idea.

I haven't gone through all the recent posts in this thread. But from what I can see the discussion has moved away from the most, and in my opinion, only relevant point of discussion. He broke the law by drink driving, and no matter the time of day or how quiet the roads were, he endangered his own life and potentially the lives of others. There's nothing "alpha male" about that at all. It's moronic behaviour. But I'm not going to cry about it. He'll recieve his punishment and that's that. I'll leave the discussion about his personal relationships with his wife to netmums.

Erm mate? All people are saying is he shouldn't be out looking to pull when he's got 3 kids at home and a 4th on the way. I'm actually quite gobsmacked that me frowning upon this sort of behaviour is being questioned lol

Not saying he should. Of course it's unpleasant, but is it newsworthy?

Agreed. Drink driving is irresponsible & idiotic. He deserves all he gets for that.

The other details shouldn't have even been reported. The tabloids will lay it on thick, "poor wife". They don't care, they wallow in it. Spreading the story & paps chasing the grief, no care for the kids. What's even sadder is that thickos lap it up & buy the rags.

We are not in a position to judge we/you don't know him and while clearly he has faults (don't we all) I hear little about his charity work which clearly goes unnoticed.

Except I absolutely am in a position to judge. Rooney is fortunate enough to be a role model for many millions of people, and he's very aware of that. This position means he makes a great deal of money but it also gives him a moral obligation to act well when within the public eye.

Irrespective of that, and even if he wasn't in any way famous or a role model, it's absolute bollocks to behave in the way he does and I'm well within my right to judge this and all of his other discrepancies.

Charity work doesn't abscond you from other deeds and believe it or not it's quite a lot easier to involve yourself with charity work when your working hours are minimal, your salary is in the millions, and your management team provide you with ample charity opportunities to boost your PR and image.

Whether the other details should have been reported is a different matter. The point is that it has been and always would have been. Rooney knows that which makes his behaviour even more stupid.

Why not? I see a whole lot of judging of Ross in other threads and he didn't put lives and a marriage at risk.

Sure it is is his personal life rather than a business decision but it is clearly going to affect Everton, if only his relationship with Koeman and our marketability of a recently signed star.

And isn't telling other posters when and with what criteria they can criticise Rooney acting a wee bit of a judge yourself?
