Footballers are a long time retired. He's still supposed to be a professional. He'll have plenty of time to mess around, but he's a father above all. He needs to grow up.

....from what I can see, he’s devoted to his kids but he’s clearly got a few demons in his life. He likes a drink but I also understand he’s first on the training pitch and last off.

He’s not perfect, but often it’s those frailties that make the difference between those who make it and those who don’t. He is what he is, a fabulous footballer with a problem or two.

He took a one day trip to Saudi Arabia from DC, which is bizarre. I wouldn't be surprised if it was more exhaustion combined with the sleeping pills and maybe a drink or two.

It's roughly 40 hours of travel time over 72 hours. Anyone know what he was doing in Saudi Arabia for a day? That's weird to me, must be getting some oil money

Terrible timing to run into free prescribing American doctors, just at the point where he realises his incredible fame is pretty much gone and his career is over. I feel for him to be honest, although I am being quite presumptuous, he could have just been on a massive bender!
