RIP, all veterans of war.

I've been watching Band of Brothers again and it really makes you appreciate what they went through in WWII. The part that really got me was... well words wouldn't do it justice. Here's the video

I always say it's hard for me to relate to what went on in the war(s) but then again i've been living in a comparible Utopia for the past 22 years...

All I can say is that I wear my poppy with pride and will spend my 2 minutes thinking about everyone (killed or not) that have fought for my country.

God Bless them all.

My Cousin. - Sean Dolan (Capt) - The Worcestershire & Sherwood Foresters died 30/06/2007 - Helmand Province Afganistan.

I feel sheltered from the recent conflict being in Royal Navy, my thoughts are always with those at the sharp end, nuff props to you fellas.

Can't say it better than that

Like Spike, I always seem to think of the opening scenes of Saving Private Ryan. Impossible to understand just what they went through

Respect.

In memory of the 14 souls who perished onboard XV230 in the skies above Afghanistan.

As an aircraft engineer, there is nothing worse than seeing off an aircraft and it failing to return.

<<aircraft mechanic as well, i hear you blue jock,

March 22 - Two Royal Navy ASaC.7 Sea Kings XV650 'CU-182' and XV704 'R-186' of 849 Squadron/A Flight collide over the Persian Gulf, killing six British crew members and one American

I was out there then my old squadron

RIP

My hat is off to the work you do and for the men and women of all the different Aircraft Maintenance Units that have done the tireless work of turning wrenches, and endless inspections in the heat and cold on flight lines across the world. No shade, nothing stopping the wind. Not the best conditions at all, but the work they do most definitely is.

No, Thank You. Aircrew can be a hard lot to deal with, and we owe our lives to the quality of the maintainers and engineers on the ground. No doubt about it.

Conversely, our first concern is the safety and wellbeing of aircrew. That come first ALWAYS.

Fly straight, fly safe.
