Thats right, you heard me!

Anyone in Sydney wants to turn out for the blues in the 'Supporters Cup' Let me know.

Looks like Inter, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U and Celtic are on board so lets get some Evertonian representation.

Pm me.

made the mistake of going down to rushcutters bay for a kick around and got challenged to a game by some members of lets say 'the albury drinkers'.

pisshead english backpackers V bunch of aussie arsebandits

to say it was embarrassing is the understatement of the 20th century, they were super-fit and ran absolute rings around us, in our defence the goal that we had constructed was made out of about 8 slabs of piss so we were a little off form. we couldn't even land a decent foul on these blokes and i think most of us puked at some point as well, and we were so confident too, one lad said that if they beat us they could all go through him...... he went on a mazy run(without the ball) and was last seen boarding a bus to queensland !!
so think i'll pass on this one thanks, although if you can find our opposition i'm sure they'd love to don our pink kit.

i was gonna say," if you can root them out" but if you start using that expression down under you'll have a massive squad to choose from.

I'd volunteer, but I was the worst player (centre back) in the worst team in my league when I played a few (fifteen) years ago.

Can't imagine I would have improved too much since then.

Where do you play - at the least I can come down and yell abuse?

i reckon you should head down to elizabeth bay for an impromptu training session and discuss tactics over a fantastic double decker vanilla/fresh cream slice from the elizabeth bay cake shop, you may bump into tim cahill down there and he could be your mascot/coach/cheerleader and can certainly afford to get you all a slice, he can also let you in on his topten sydney eateries.
one day i shall return and do the rounds of all of those fantastic deli's ,cake shops etc. not forgetting doyles too

How long since you were last here Reidy?

far too long mate '96
lived in n.z. since then and intended moving back to aus but didn't get the nz passport which i needed to do so. had a great time there, but then living the life of a backpacker on the lash all the time is a bit diff. to settling down and buying a house etc. and from speaking to people who have been there recently on working holidays it seems that the wages haven't risen by much, so we were onto a good thing then.
i worked at garden island for a while so was pretty well off (cafe de wheels every dinner) then i worked for a fencing firm which meant i got to see pretty much all of sydney and it's surrounds, i knocked in the first post when the site at homebush was getting underway, and fitted a safety rail in the blue mountains which involved hanging over the edge of a rather large drop(all i can say is DONT lean too heavy on that rail).

Sydney's a pretty good place to live, but living is expensive compared to other Australian cities. Still much cheaper than the UK though.

I remember doing the 'Big Mac' price comparison when I first got to London a couple of years ago, and it costing the same amount (in pounds) for the McDonalds meal as it does back home (in dollars). When the dollar's only worth (less than) half a pound, it starts getting ridiculous. It didn't look like the wages were all that much higher either, so I just don't know how you lot live.

Is it much cheaper up North (we didn't get that far on the last trip)?
