Walsh v Brands

Always thought this was a weird stance by a portion of the fanbase.

Even if he's quality for 60 minutes, it's till more than Walcott, Bolasie, Vlasic, Lookman and Kev contributed for 90 percent of matches when Koeman and Sam were here.

Even now, we could have Geri on the right or left get we have Walcott and Iwobi. I quite like Iwobi but he's an inferior player to Deulofeu in my view.
Thats a good point. Given you have three substitutions, it should be easy enough to manage having one player who has poor stamina if he can bring enough other attributes to the team.

Oh I am a big fan of Geri too. If he had the fitness levels of a Cristiano Ronaldo what a player he would be though.

Also, sounds like Walsh made some good proposals, but got overruled:

"While I was at Everton, I offered them Andrew Robertson and Harry Maguire deals, when they were at Hull, and it was worth £20 million for the pair. Everton wouldn't take them.

"I had a deal done for Jonny Evans too before he came to Leicester, but again they wouldn't take him.

"Erling Haaland, the striker with Salzburg, I had him and his dad at the club with a deal done for €4 million. The club wouldn't back me."

Now, maybe it is sour grapes, but I also think it is easier for the club to blame Walsh for all the bad signings. Lets not forget, Moshiri is a showman who likes 'statement signings.' Seems quite likely he would rather spend big and enjoy the razzmatazz than look into lower league signings.

Very easy to make claims after the fact

True enough. But he is at a disadvantage in terms of being used as the whipping boy for the Koeman years.

And say Moshiri decided after a bad summer window that it is all Walsh’s fault, so dismissed out of hand all his suggestions. Moshiri is hardly given any indication so far that he is a patient owner with a realistic view of how difficult the job is for managers and scouts.

Also, a lot of people scoffed at the fact Walsh wanted us to sign Jamie Vardy for pretty much his whole spell here, even just before he got the bullet. The fact is, Walsh has been proven right. Vardy is currently the top scorer in the league.

How do you know he wanted to sign Vardy? Absolutely nothing other than idle paper talk.

...regardless of who suggests or even negotiates a transfer, the DoF has to endorse the deal and has the power of veto. It appears Koeman and Walsh might have been doing their own thing, but that’s a sign of Walsh’s weakness. I don’t see that happening with Brands.

The DoF should be accountable for all activity during their tenure (good and bad).

Spot on Eggs.
