Waiting for a delivery

Probably have some obligation under commercial law they aren't fulfilling by being unable to check the status of that item. Get them to chase up the freight company for you as they should have some information allowing them to track the whereabouts of the item. There should be someone or somewhere that will tell you what your rights are under uk law as the consumer (perhaps here https://www.gov.uk/citizens-advice-consumer-service). Throw in a few buzzwords like unacceptable service and breach of consumer law and you're all set to have your enquiry fast tracked and chased up by the company.
If they are obligated by law to be able to tell you where your item actually is and they fail to do so, you can then bring it up with the Office of Fair Trading.
Apparently XDP have taken on a lot of the orders following CityLink's collapse. Not an excuse in my book, just don't take them on if you can't fulfil orders with your existing clients.

They have until 3pm to confirm it'll be delivered tomorrow or I'm cancelling.

I always use the "if I don't get any satisfaction from your company I am about to become your Public Relations nightmare !" Works wonders !

Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, creeps in this petty pace, until the last syllable of recorded time.

That's what it's like ordering a bed from bedstar.co.uk

Bed should be arriving tomorrow. Yeah, right.

I waited in for a delivery once, it was the usual 13 hour window as to when I would recieve the item. After waiting for about 9 hours I seen the guy pull up, he walked upto the door posted the 'Sorry I missed you' card and got off.

He sh!t himself when I chased after the van and opened his passenger door fuming.

As I understand, a proportion of Royal Mail parcel deliveries are left at the depot and a red card is written up, simply cos they can't deliver them all in a day. Might be rubbish though.

What did he say? What was his excuse??!

WHERE DID YOU BURY HIM??!!!

I love UPS tracking over here. Get free two day delivery from Amazon with having prime and then I get to see where my parcel was last scanned.

Ordered myself a prezzie with gift cards I'd gotten and noticed it made it to the local UPS at 2am on the day it was due to be delivered by 8pm. Didn't leave the hub so I complained that they could get a parcel the 15 mins from their hub to my house in 18hrs and Amazon gave me a $5 credit for having a whinge
