Proton and one of the others (some European VPN) are the ones I see recommended everywhere by everyone. Proton is great. Nord I hear has quite a few problems for some and works great for others. You can also get a black Friday deal for VPN on the cheap usually.
Another vote for Proton.Proton to me has all you would likely need and then some. An app for the whole PC, browser extension for strictly web browsing, mobile app, split tunneling, kill switch to protect your privacy in case the VPN craps out on you and you can use 10 devices simultaneously. As with most VPns some sites flag addresses but I hear Proton tends to have less of that problem than Nord and some others (maybe because it is a tad less popular idk). The speeds have always been great for me. I love it.
Mostly use it to block highly irritating ads on certain sites or if if I'm on public WiFi, particularly overseas.
Covers multiple devices on one subscription too. Probably don't us 75% of the features.
Probably annoys the hell out of Mr GoT re:ad blocking.
