its crazy to think if Everton didn't sign him in January he'd probably be engaged or at least exposed to the unsettling scenes of warfare. I'm sure beyond just the general distress regarding his family and homeland, he's conflicted and feels some level of guilt not being physically there to fight with his people. I'd imagine being a functioning human being under those agonizing circumstances would be daunting much less having to perform at a very demanding level of Professional sports.

Again, the wrong signing. Imagine selling your only left back in the middle of a relegation battle, and replacing him with a lad who can barely speak English and has never played a domestic game outside of his own country. We deserve to do down.
Just more chaotic decision making. Financial arguments for selling Digne but if they really needed to, wait until the end of the season. Looked an obviously terrible decision at the time and it’s proving to be the case.

Just one mad decision after another with Everton.

Jonjoe Kenny goes on loan to Schalke and Celtic, neither make any moves to keep him permanently.

Lucas Digne is literally bombed out of the club a week before the manager is sacked.

In their replacements we sign two international players, Mykolenko and Patterson, naturally left and right footed respectively, yet go on to play somebody who was previously our third choice right back, and who cannot use his left foot, at left back, and persist with a player who has desperately needed replacing for literally four seasons at a minimum at right back.

You couldn't make it up.

We had a gaping hole right down the middle of our team, yet all we could muster up was a loanee (who may or may not prove to be a decent addition, so far he's been ok, not significantly better than those around him, but certainly not worse) and a player who looks like his appetite for the game has long since been lost and only joined us so he can live with his mrs in Manchester.

If we had 30m to spend, and we were going to persist with Kenny and Coleman, sign a bleedin' striker and another central midfielder!

This is not true

That cash spent in January was flushed down the toilet in terms of the purposes we need to spend it for: good to go FBs who could hand us expereince and good performances to get us out of this hole.

We needed to face up to the fact - regardless of an injury to Mina - that we have no centre backs at this club....NONE.

It was a catastrophic lack of steweradship that we went through January and spent £30M and no CB was brought in.

IMO we needed to buy two. What we have are lower level Championship players.

The way Godfrey has been indulged is a case in point. That lad is not a footballer. He's just not. And he's had loads of game time and hasn't been involved lately only because he's been injured.

I think this CB situation will be the greatest single factor that will relegate us.

Keane has been getting a lot of stick, rightly so. But Holgate has been absolutely abysmal. Look at this image in the build up to their second goal.
Keane has let Kane get the wrong side of him, fair enough, it happens. It shouldn't, especially seeing as though Kane is Hardly rapid. But wtf is Holgate doing? He can see Kenny has got Son covered, so how in gods name is Holgate not getting across to cover from that position? Shocking. It's not like Kane can out run him.

You literally couldn’t make it up. We were in a hole in January, second half of the season was huge and we sold a french international left back, vice captain and one of the best players and ended up playing our third choice right back at left back and Seamus soldering on at right back. Deserve to go down with decisions like that - utter chaos. Can see the thought process…hmmmm, team’s looking [Poor language removed] and struggling badly - I know, let’s get rid of one of the few players who functions at a premier league level and make the left hand side as [Poor language removed] as the rest of the team, that’ll even it all out a bit. Pathetic.
