Walk around the walls, have a butty and visit the train museum.

Top 10 riveting British Tourist destination for you here folks. The afternoon naps are spectacular.

My missus is from York mate, so I have ve got to know it like the back of my hand over the years.

I even have a local there !!

Unfortunately York City aren`t at home next week, otherwise an evening game at Bootham Crescent would have been a good bet @FC sexy xxx .

What sort of food / pubs do you like, as I can point you in the direction of the best places to eat and drink that you may not find otherwise.

My favourite area is around Stonegate, as it is full of character, some cracking pubs and bars and it is not full of fat Geordie Stag and Hen dos like a lot of areas in York City centre.

I hadn't thought of Stag and Hen dos.
I would like to visit a few bars with a bit of local character with local beers/ales, being from a small town in Northern Ireland I don't get to sample that many new beers. As Mrs Caolam is coming with me I am looking at descent restaurants.

Stonegate is the place for you then.

It is "olde worlde " York, leads onto the Cathedral.

Cracking pub- The Star.

Tiny York Brewery pub - The Yorkshire Terrier.

Cracking bar - The House of Trembling Madness ( sells ales and drinks from around the world )

Depending on what type of food you want, there is a very good Italian 2 mins away - Caesars

If you want to go posh, there is The Ivy ( Saint Helens Square - leads onto Stonegate / deffo need to book )

There is a bohemian area at the other end of York - Fossgate.

Loads of little rustic bistros serving stuff from all over the world - the Polish one is particularly good.

One of Yorks best and oldest pubs is there too - The Blue Bell ( tiny real ale pub )

Another one of Yorks best pubs (imo ) is around the corner from there too - The Red Lion ( ancient real ale pub, bags of character, great beers and full of nutters !

Mrs Caolam, myself and young Master Caolam are of to York next week. Master Caolam has an interview for University so we thought we would stay a couple of days. Any advice or tips on where to visit, restaurants, bars etc. greatly appreciated.
Trembling Madness on Stonegate is amazing and Brew York is a fantastic brewery with a great taproom and tasty food too.

Are you alright mate??? :eek::p:eek:
