Been done over by one?

Can't turn my PC on properly now.

It's coming up with a screen about rebooting and then you do that and it just goes back to the same screen.

Think it may be a trojan who has done me over?

Can anyone suggest help.

Press F8 when you start the computer, then it should take you into safe mode, where you can either search for the virus - and remove it - or (probably) you cant remove it - in which case just paste whatever the virus is called (which your antiviruis should probably detect) and follow instructions online - and/or delete the files infected - which can affect the computer.

It may not have removed it - but did it find it? The file name or something? Normally in System32 or something...

...Because then just paste whatever the file is into google and/or just find the file and delete it manually.

Alot of Anti-Virus's can detect the virus - but fail to remove it.

And if its spyware - use Spybot and Windows Defender too.

You're gonna have to format, mate.

At least you didn't get up at 4am to go to the midlands for an assessment centre and find out you'd been told the wrong day.

ok start the pc in safe mode.(f8)
then if it boots up...
do a scan with norton or kaspersky (best 2) if possible.

if you know the name of the virus/trojan it would help me btw.

you could also try safe mode / start/run/type in msconfig / then click on the 'startup' tab , to see which programmes run at start up. sometimes turning on and off a few of these items (if you know which they are), then restarting , then doing the virus scan helps.

or you could try safe mode(f8) then use a previous restore point.start/all programs/accessories /systemtools/system restore

the screen thats coming up , is it blue ? does it say something like driver sqrl not equal - (0-0000, 0,00003 ,0,000012) , if so - write the code down and post it here. thats a driver issue not a virus issue.

I could just do a flippant:

Boot into DOS mode and type:
format c: /s

Then choose yes.

Mind you, it may help to have a copy uof windows laying around. Or just buy a Mac.

Dont turn furious lad.

I had to restore the PC back to factory settings as it was [Poor language removed].

So everything has gone :(

Oh well, virus free here lid and they wont be [Poor language removed] me over.
